Running a business can be a stressful task, and it’s easy to become overwhelmed with big projects, deadlines and the demands of customers and employees.
With a desire to be the best at work, the everyday things that make us feel good and help to keep us grounded often get forgotten.
I do my best to do these five things every day and target better performance at work and at home.
Exercise: whether it’s a short walk round the block or a session at the gym, exercise is important for all of us. Refresh the brain, stretch those limbs and feel invigorated!
Eat well: it’s important to get a balanced diet, choosing foods that help to keep us healthy both physically and mentally. I keep hydrated with regular glasses of water and snack on healthy treats like fruits and nuts. Naughty snacks are good once in a while!
Make lists: I start and end my day with a list. This helps to keep me focused and on task for what needs to be completed.
Connect with cheerleaders: everybody needs a cheerleader or a mentor, and I try to connect with at least one of mine every day. Whether it’s in person, by phone or over Twitter, checking in with my advocates gives me encouragement and provides a welcome positivity boost!
Be positive: staying positive is vital for when times get tough or when you are facing a stressful situation. Take time out, press reset and think positive thoughts.
