Constructing the perfect pitch or proposal takes time and practice. Whatever the stage of your business, it’s always good to look at how to write a winning proposal.
Here are some tips that have helped me:
- Do your research - Thoroughly research the company, project, aims, objectives, budget and personalities. The more information you have the better!
- Look at others for inspiration – When setting up a template to use for my business proposals, I looked to others for inspiration. A striking layout is important to make your pitch stand out, and it’s also good to consider the use of headings, subheadings and other techniques to present your information.
- Use images - Be sure to use your company logo on every document you issue, and consider using graphs or infographics in your proposal to ‘break up’ any large amounts of texts.
- Leave a day to read and reflect - I try to complete a proposal ahead of deadline, leaving a day to read through and reflect on any amendments.
